It’s called the "gap." It’s the difference between the Amount Owed on your Retail Installment Sales Contract/Lease Agreement and the Actual Cash Value of your vehicle at the time of a Total Loss.
Plan Overview
The Amount Owed does not include missed payments, payment extensions, deferred payments, accrued interest, late fees, disposition fees, penalty fees, early termination fees or finance charges incurred after the date of loss. Also, if the insurance company valuation used to calculate the Actual Cash Value is less than 90% of the NADA value of your vehicle, the NADA value will be used in determining the "gap" amount waived (which means a smaller amount may be waived).
If your car is determined to be a Total Loss, the "gap" between the Amount Owed and the Actual Cash Value of your vehicle could translate into thousands of dollars that you would still owe after the settlement from the auto insurance company. The Total Loss Protection Plan excludes total loss claims denied by your automobile insurance company. This is an optional waiver product and not a product of insurance. It is not required for you to obtain financing for the purchase or lease of a vehicle.

Getting a new car should be a carefree and enjoyable experience. But service may be needed and major mechanical breakdowns could occur even when your car is new, whether you own or lease it.
Plan Overview
We have created an optional protection plan designed especially to help protect your new car against the unexpected, with coverage for items that the manufacturer’s warranty may not cover.
Term Care Select does not cover brake drums and rotors (unless Platinum Plus Rotors Coverage is selected), solar-powered devices, glass, lenses, body parts and/or panels, trim, moldings, tires, wheels, upholstery, paint, bright metal, audio/security or other systems not factory-installed, wheel balancing, cellular phones, radar detectors, appliances, vinyl and convertible tops.
Term Care Select also does not cover mechanical breakdowns caused by misuse, abuse, negligence (including the negligence of any repair facility), improper towing, lack of maintenance of a failed covered part, contamination, overheating, lack of coolant or lubricants, lack of oil viscosity, sludge, restricted oil flow, salt, rust and rust damage, environmental damage, or chemicals; burnt valves, worn or carbon fouled piston rings, the correction of oil consumption, or any repairs for reduction in engine efficiency that must be performed on the vehicle.
These are common exclusions. For exact coverages, exclusions and limitations, please review the contract itself.

Leasing a new car should be a carefree and enjoyable alternative to the responsibilities of auto ownership.
Plan Overview
Many of the risks of driving a car – the small dents and dings that happen in parking lots, chipped paint, even worn tires – are your responsibility at lease-end. You either repair them, or you pay the leasing company to perform the repairs. You may lose part of your security deposit, all of it, or maybe even more… Why worry about things that happen to almost any car?
Leased Vehicle Excess Wear and Tear will not waive any charges due to improper repairs, removal of bumper stickers, signs, lettering, excess mileage charges or from other occurrences as listed in the Excess Wear and Tear Addendum. This information is only a general outline of the Leased Vehicle Excess Wear & Tear Plan. Please refer to the Leased Vehicle Excess Wear & Tear Plan Addendum for specific details.
